Just got back from a wonderfully relaxing week at your lake house. The house itself was immaculate and had everything we could ask for. The internet worked great and the flat screen tv with DVR was an added bonus. The kitchen was completely stocked with anything we needed and the gas grill worked great. But my favorite part is the outside. The private beach was big and it had 4 lounges, 2 chairs, and a large beach umbrella which really came in handy on hot days. If you like to swim - this is the perfect place. The lake is clear and warm, with a nice sandy bottom when you first get in. We also used the kayaks to explore the rest of the lake. The fire pit was nice and the crates of wood for sale right at the house made it so easy. I know I'm missing things but it's impossible to list all the cool amenities this house has. We found a real gem and we'll definitely be back next year. Thank you!!

Thank you very much for the warm welcome and the candy.
We really enjoyed your beautiful lake. We kayaked the whole lake (and one section twice) and never saw another person or boat on the water. We had the whole lake to ourselves. We did see people on their decks, but none swimming. Any neighbors we saw were very friendly.
We looked at your "before" photograph album, and were very impressed with your final results. We love the wood floors especially. But the view out the windows, onto the lake, were amazing. We felt so fortunate to be able to experience the view for several days.
We played games that we never had time for at home- backgammon, trouble, and the cards.
We took walks around the neighborhood and enjoyed ferns, hostas and columbine and more, that won't grow in our hot climate, What grows naturally along your roadways- we have to work hard to imitate!
It was a very peacful & fun vacation experience- and we thank you!

Hi Victoria and John,
This was the most relaxing anniversary yet. Celebrating 24 years here was perfect. I suspect we will be back. We love how peaceful it is in this area. We especially love the purple martins with all their chirps and clicks, it made our morning coffee entertaining as well as watching all the fish jumping.
We also want to thank you for the unexpected boat ride. You are so welcoming and friendly.
Your lake home is very well equipped. My only complaint is I didn't bring food for lunch on Saturday and we had to go out and leave the lakefront. Love the beach, firepit and kayaks.
Wishing you lifes best and I am sure we will come again!

Thank ypu so much for sharing this wonderful cottage with us. We really enjoyed getting away from NYC for the weekend for a quiet and peaceful time. We really had everything we needed here. The kayaks were a fun addition. Hopefully we will be back in the warmer weather months so that we can enjoy swimming in the lake.

MY wife and I had unforgettable stay at oxoboxo lake cottage, We spent three week for our honeymoon at this cozy, immaculate and clean place. We were thrilled to find such quite, gorgeous home for honeymoon! When we drove up the drive way we were in awe to see how beautiful the view was. we loved the home from the moment we arrived and it was very hard for us to leave. Every morning was a gift to look out the large windows and see the lake right in front of you. Victoria was helpful and kind in answering whatever requests we rose starting from booking till we left the vacation rental. The owners are friendly without being intrusive and are also flexible with scheduling, interested in making the best stay for their guests that they can manage given their own interesting lives. The cottage faces the oxoboxo lake and gave the house a beautiful view .The clear and calm environment of oxoboxo lake cottage made our stay enjoyable. It is hard to imagine a more ideal location for a home and a finer house to live in. This place is meant for getting away, fed by constant sea breezes and the sounds and presence of many species of birds. It could not have been a better vacation. The house has a completely equipped kitchen, beautiful bedrooms and breathtaking views. Also it was immaculate. The house and property are absolutely beautiful. The house have a barbcue, you can fish, hayak and and boat drive. The inside of the home was immaculate and more than what is pictured. Being able to enjoy the soothing water and gaze at the harbor and stars was a quite a wonderland experience. It was an impressive vacation. Our two week stay was everything we had hoped, and more. The cottage was clean, cheerful and well equipped. We appreciated that WiFi, Cable and free long distance telephone service was included. The lake is beautiful, and we think it would be wonderful to return in the warm weather to take advantage of the private sandy beach, swim in the lake, and to be able to enjoy the paddle boat and/or kayak. The owner welcomed us with fresh flowers and chocolates, and provided helpful information about the area - grocery stores, other shopping, restaurants, sightseeing, etc. We would definitely recommend this rental cottage to others.

The cottage was very clean and the kitchen was the best-equipped of any that we stayed in on our 3 month long tour. The friendly owner was there to greet us an show us around, but otherwise left us in peace. We had a few email exchanges with her during our stay about the expected severe weather, so she was accessible had we needed to contact her about anything else. There was a big snowstorm while we were there, but the cottage was very cosy and the view out the window over the lake was stunning. No need to go out if you can just sit on the comfy daybed in front of the window and admire the view! The only drawback for us was that there were no reading lights in the tiny bedroom for reading in bed. One had to use the overly bright overhead light which was not ideal (especially if one person want to read and the other to sleep!) All in all, this was a very comfortable rental and we had a lovely stay. FlipKey
12/7/2012 My grandson and I spent a wonderful winter week in the cottage. The value is unparalleled for this warm, cozy, clean cottage with an absolutely spectacular view. Even in the bad weather we felt connected with nature and "on vacation". The owner is a sweet and friendly person who was responsive to my every request. The neighbors are very close to the cottage, detracting from the otherwise remote and private feeling of this very accessible little vacation spot. I would still recommend it to anyone - any season. It's a bit small, but a great value for 1 to maybe 3 people maximum.

August 12- 25, 2012 Dear John & Victoria, What a great and relaxing time we had here with our 2 year old Leonardo! We've been spoiled by all the neighbor's here. Leonardo will miss the fishing, playing with Zoe and little Bella and the cute little dogs Mini and Luke, splashing in the water, sleeping with a beautiful lake view... The cottage was clean and well organized. Around here there are many interesting activities to do. Our favorite was EATING @ Jack's Lobster in Noank (near Mysic) and body boarding @ the Rhode Island beaches ( Misquamicut State Beach, the last one before the river is clean and well organized). July 23, 2012 Dear Victoria and John, Thank you so much for the welcome basket and all the information you left us on New York and Boston ( The Freedom Trail is a must see, must do.) We really enjoyed our stay here in your lovely cottage. Thanks to the beautiful weather we were able to go kayaking and fishing almost everyday (for the fisher (wo)men among us. Try feeding them bread, they come right at it, we only managed to catch bass though, We can also recommend going to Devil's Hopyard if you enjoy nature. Please send our regards to Patrice! June 7, 2012 Perfect location. First time out to CT visiting brother who recently started working for ESPN. The location was good to do some CT sightseeing. Not far from Ocean,Waterfalls & hiking. Rocky Neck State Park & Devils Hopyard State Park are very nice. Weather was not perfect, but that didn't stop us from enjoying the lake. The kayaks and fishing are so much fun. Victoria left us some worms in the fridge. Our daughter had a great time watching us reel in fish after fish. Lots of Bass, Pike, Sunfish, and even a few perch. My wife caught her first fish. Thanks again for a GREAT place to stay.

5/23/2012 Dear Victoria, Life is not the breaths you take, its the moments that take your breath away. Upon arrival I gasped at the beautiful lake and adorable cottage. You supplied all we needed and more, to make sure our stay was comfortable. Your attention to detail is to be commended! Relaxing on the sand, building a fire, kayaking on the lake, eating breakfast on the deck overlooking the lake was spectacular. Me and my sister decided to come here to reminise and more the death of our beloved momma and get away from our somewhat screwed up lives. It was the best days, but it was so great we don't want to go home. If anyone comes investigating if we were here please deny it. This needs to be our escape. We love our families but if we can't have our own private spot to get away to, it could get ugly. P.S. We highly recommend " Piasano's" Pizzeria Great Food. Thank You!!!! Hope to be back soon,

April 17, 2012 There are few place around anymore where time slows down allowing you to relax and enjoy the peace of God. I felt like I had returned to a simpler time in my life where there was no traffic, no rush...just the warm sun and gentle breezes from the lake. We have enjoyed our stay. Victoria... you are a gracious hostess. The cookies were a special treat that made us feel welcome and when we locked ourselves out- you came to our rescue and made us feel comfortable in our moment of distress. Relaxing weekend getaway My sisters and I stayed here for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The cottage is very relaxing with a beautiful view of the lake. The perfect little get a way! The Oxoboxo Lake Cottage is a lovely little hidden gem. Literally lake-front, it is only steps to a private dock with paddle boat. My family did some of the best fishing we have ever done. The lake offers lots of fish to catch; perch, lake trout, bass, pickerel, crappie, and endless sunfish, many of which we caught numerous times. Victoria, the Cottage host, is professional, considerate, and accommodating. My family and I have stayed in many vacation homes over the years and I find Victoria to be one of the nicest and fair people I have ever dealt with. The cottage itself is clean, quaint and nicely decorated with an amazing view of the lake. The outdoor seating area is perfect for picnicking, entertaining small parties and hosting a cozy fire by the water. If I had to choose one issue to help a prospective renter to consider this lovely cottage, it would be that the homes in this area are very close to one another and the cottage lacked privacy for my taste. But, in all fairness, I am a very private person and my privacy is important to me. If you are an outgoing person and enjoy close-knit quarters and neighbors, this is by all means, a perfect little get a way vacation home and I highly recommend it to all.

May 18, 2011 Thank you for the wonderful get away from busy Boston to allow me to make amazing progress on my dissertation. The view of the lake was inspirational & the overall setting provided the clarity of mind needed to accomplish all that I have this week. Had frequent visits from a pair of Canadian Geese ( I think) and their 4 fluffy chicks. I arrived on 4/5/11, I was pleasantly surprised to see just how lovely this vacation home is. I've stayed in dozens and dozens of vacation homes over the years. This is the cleanest place I have ever been in! Victoria met me here on my arrival. She was friendly, helpful and professional. My daughter and I were pleasantly surprised to find fresh flowers on the table and a beautiful basket full of useful goodies!! Victoria even surprised us with a little welcome note. The cottage is very quaint and cozy with a gorgeous view of the lake out the big picture window. I was greeted with a vase of flowers at the front door and a welcome basket of goodies on the kitchen table. Although the week I stayed was cold and I spent most of my time gazing at the scenery from the comfy couch indoors, I can imagine having a great time on the deck and mini-beach out back in warmer weather. The kitchen is big and would be great for someone into cooking. The bedroom is smallish but comfortable and the bathroom houses only a shower not a bathtub. The furnace works great (kinda loud) and I never ran out of hot water. Vicki was very easy to deal with and seems to have thought of everything. I would definitely stay there again if my travels bring me to Connecticut in the future. You can't beat that view, the lake is simply beautiful. 3/27/11 Lisa p

I'm a young travelling professional, and I spent 3.5 months in this cottage from fall to the beginning of winter. The home absolutely suited my needs, and I fell in love the house as well as the lake! The landlords are great to work with, the neighbors are friendly and nothing beats the view! I had a great stay and would definitely consider going back if I return to the area!
